Because of the special technique demands placed on the Color guard section of the band, students wishing to audition for this group are invited to our audition and clinic. Auditions will be held Saturday, May 17th, 2008 behind the Fine Arts Building on the campus of Valdosta State University. If we experience inclement weather, the auditions will be moved inside. This audition date is for returning and new prospective members. Requirements for the audition are as follows:

• You must be accepted to Valdosta State University to be eligible to audition for the Color guard Squad.
• All applicants will be issued a flag to use for the routine they will learn while at the audition.
• No alternates will be selected for the squad.
• Those accepted will be named on the day of the auditions.

We will open the registration area at 12:00 in the front lobby of the Fine Arts Building. We will begin the clinic at 1:00. During this time we will go over some of the fundamentals used by our guard and you will be taught a new routine. This will show your ability to adapt, learn quickly, and work with the other students involved.  There will be Captain auditions immediately following guard auditions.  Results will be given as soon as they are available.

Only under extraordinary circumstances will students be excused from the audition. If you cannot attend, you may still audition for the Color guard, but you should contact me as soon as possible.
